Dr. Casey received his Ph.D. in Psychology with a minor in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has held positions at MIT’s Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. At Stony Brook he has served as Graduate Program Director for the College of Business; Director of the M.S. in Technology Management program, which is conducted primarily in Seoul, South Korea; and Co-Director of the Center for Human Resource Management. Dr. Casey’s research concerns managerial judgment, decision making behavior under risk, and psychological models of economic behavior. His publications include articles in Management Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Acta Psychologica. He has presented invited papers at many professional conferences, including those of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, and the Economic Science Association. Current projects examine effects of performance appraisal feedback on self-evaluation, and explore how critical factors related to task and context affect decision making under risk and uncertainty. Dr. Casey’s research has been partially supported by the National Science Foundation.
